Anilara sp. Peebinga  Distinctive features

Similar to Anilara sp. Ki Ki, but smaller on average and with a distinctive aedeagus that is pale, flat and has a wide sub-elliptical basal half. Sides of pronotum very rounded.

Notes

Appears to be related to Anilara subcostata and A. sp. Ki Ki based on aedeagus structure and the gibbous first tarsal segment of the hind leg. Its larval host plants are unknown.

Resembles a specimen in SA Museum identified as Anilara purpurascens (collected by A.H. Elston from the Barossa). Carter 1926 considered this specimen comparable to the type of A. purpurascens from NW of WA, although he conceded that it showed a 'slight variation of form'.
