Tentatively included for SA based on two specimens at the SA Museum identified as this species by Levey in 1974. Their identity needs verification as they may no longer fit within a narrower circumscription being applied to this species, as, for example, is the case with the recognition of M. pyritosa (q.v.).
The MU occurrence is an 1875 Tepper collection from Salem [Valley] NE of Angaston towards the eastern edge of the Northern Mt Lofty Ranges.
