Plant description
Annual herb 6-80 cm high. Basal leaves oblanceolate, to 7 cm long; cauline leaves lanceolate, 1�8 cm long, base stem-claspin, woolly on lower surface, pubescent above. Inflorescence a loosely contracted cyme, rarely heads solitary, 15�25 mm in diameter, to 15 mm long. Ray florets 20-40; ligules broadly linear, 6-10 mm long, deeply 3-toothed, yellow; disk florets numerous, yellow. Flowering May - November. Fruits are achenes 1.5-2 mm long, microscopically papillate; pappus bristles 15-25, minutely barbellate
