Etymology

'Geijera' after the 17th century Swedish botanist J.D. Geijer and 'linearfolia' linear leaf.

Grows on sandy and clay soils, rocky limestone, flats and edges of salt lakes. Native

Plant description

Erect much-branched shrub or tree, 1-3 m high. Leaves linear-oblong, 20-50 x 3-6 mm, glabrescent. Inflorescence a many-branched dichasial cyme, 1-3 cm long, petals spreading, ovate, 1.5-2 mm long, white, green. Flowering August-October. Fruits are cocci 4-6 x 3-4 mm Seeds are seeds ovoid, 3-5.5 x 2.5-3.5 mm, black and shining
