Anilara planifrons  Distinctive features

A short and wide pronotum relative to the elytra; head lacking a sulcus on the upper frons (present in A. adelaidae). Tends to be smaller and more rounded (less flattened) than A. adelaidae.

Notes

The distinction of this species from A. adelaidae needs further investigation given the subtle nature and variability of the frontal sulcus in A. adelaidae.
Blackburn collected the type from near Wallaroo, on northern Yorke Peninsula.
