Somewhat like B. sphaenoida in colouration but with a very convex bulbous pronotum and the apical spines small and short. Also differs by having coppery colouration in addition to the green, weaker on the elytra and scutellum but strong on the ventral side.

Known in SA only by the single male specimen bearing Carter's label 'S. Australia' and which was chosen as the lectotype by Bílý & Hanlon 2020. In the original description by Carter 1924b, however, the distribution is only given as Western Australia and Carter merely states that the type is in the SA Museum, so the SA occurrence could be questioned.

The species precise distribution is a mystery. Carter's description refers to three specimens, and the only other two specimens seen by Bílý & Hanlon (both non-types in overseas museums) are labelled simply as from Australia.
