Differs from C. clancula in the red rather than orange elytral background colour.
This species was listed for SA by Barker 2006a who cited the location Lyndoch (in the southern Barossa Valley, Mt Lofty Ranges), but I have not been able to find any specimen or other details to confirm an occurrence there.
In December 2020 a definite SA record was obtained by R.V. Glatz who collected a specimen on western Kangaroo Island.
