Host plant notes

A.M.P. Stolarski discovered two pupae of this species in the stems of a Small Hop-bush, Dodonaea bursariifolia. I reared an adult from one of these and although the elytra did not expand properly, their patterning with a black sutural strip (dilated apically) and humeral edging is discernible. It is clearly identifiable as C. parallelipennis based on its colouration and aedeagus morphology. The beetle has a much wider distribution than this host and so must also breed in other plant species.
