Castiarina recta  Distinctive features

Rather narrow elongate-oblong body shape with sides of pronotum and elytra straight for much of their length. Similar to C. atricollis but smaller and narrower, with the elytral background red or orange instead of yellow and the dark fasciae tending to be thicker.

Notes

Related to C. atricollis and like that species strongly associated with leguminous plants (family Fabaceae).

Saunders 1869 based his description on a type specimen from Adelaide with the elytra 'reddish testaceous' in colour.
