Meliboeithon bicostatum  Distinctive features

Distinguished from other SA Meliboeithon species by the acute basal angles of the pronotum which project outwards below a lateral constriction in the sides of the pronotum.

Notes

Known in SA by a specimen labelled simply as 'S.Aust.' according to the revision of the genus by Bellamy 1988. Since then I have determined several other SA Museum collections as this species, and there are also four recent collections from the Murray Mallee region made by M.A.Hura using a flight intercept trap.
