Known in SA by a specimen labelled simply as 'S.Aust.' according to the revision of this genus by Bellamy 1988. The current SA Museum collections of Meliboeithon are yet to be examined in detail and the distribution of this species and its congeners are poorly known. Four recent collections from the Murray Mallee region made by M.A.Hura using a flight intercept trap appear to be this species.
