Melobasis andersoni  Distinctive features

Very broad body shape (head, pronotum and elytra), widest at the posterior 2/3rds of the elytra; bronze colouration; elytra with many (6 on each side) evenly and closely spaced, shallow, rounded costae grading to a broad, non-costate margin with an even cover of small dense puncta.

Notes

Rarely collected in SA and mainly represented by old collections.
