Pseudanilara pilosa  Distinctive features

Readily distinguished from other Pseudanilara by the coppery/orange-pink margins of the pronotum that are broadened to the posterior, together with its widespread and prominent dark patent hairs. Predominantly purple to violet, iridescing to green-blue laterally. Pronotum rather convex and relatively narrow compared to elytra, often with blue-green reflections medially.

Notes

There are very few collections of this species from SA.

Host plant notes

The only known breeding record for this species was obtained by A.M.P. Stolarski who extracted a live adult from the wood of a Eucalypt at Macclesfield in the Southern Mt Lofty Ranges in June 1990.
