Temognatha miranda  Distinctive features

The 2002 SA specimen measures 43 x 18 mm with head, pronotum and ventral side black, pronotum with some very weak bluish reflections and a distinct rim but no pale edge, and elytra red with two large black fasciae and black apical and humeral margins.

Notes

Known in SA by a specimen collected in 2002 at Buckleboo, N of Kimba, as a dead adult from a large wood heap of mallee stumps. According to the collector these would have been sourced locally. More recently, three dead individuals were photographed in 2017 on a salt lake in the EP region.
