Distribution and status
Found in the far northern and central parts of South Australia and along the Murray River, growing on moist sandy areas around receding lakes or watercourses. Also found in Western Australia, Northern Territory, and Victoria (and Africa and Asia). Considered an introduced species in Australia, however, its occurrence in remote and otherwise pristine wetlands in central Australia, suggests that the species maybe cosmopolitan and native to this region.

Pre-treatment: The initial treatment that the seeds received prior to placement on germination media.
Germination medium: The substrate that seeds were placed on for the duration of the germination experiment.
Incubator conditions:
Photoperiod: The duration of light exposure that the seeds were subject to during a 24 hour period.
