Etymology
Pultenaea named after Richard Pulteney (1730 – 1801), a English physician, botanist and biographer of Carl Linnaeus. Stricta from the Latin 'strictus' meaning drawn together, straight or erect; referring to the stiff upright habit of the species.
Distribution and status
Found only in the lower South-east in South Australia, growing in open or wet heaths often in damp sites or in swamps. Also found in Victoria and Tasmania. Native. Uncommon in South Australia. Common in the other states.

Flowering between September and November.
