Etymology
Greek 'myo' I close and 'poros' pore, refers to the plants ablity to reduce water loss, and Greek 'platys' flat, 'carpos' fruit
Distribution and status
Grows in low mallee woodlands on red or brown sandy or clay loams or occasionally on sand dunes

Plant description
A tall multistemmed shrub or rarely a small tree 1–10m. Branches of mature trees not flexuous, leaves alternate, scattered, linear-lanceolate, 30–90mm wide, 3–10 mm long, glabrous. Flowers 4–11 per axil, corolla longer than 8mm ing diameter, lobes equal or longer than tube, white. Flowering August – November. Fruits are fruit ovate, pale yellow or brown, compressed, 4–5.5 mm long, 3–3.5 mm wide, apex acute, glabrous. Seed embryo type is straight

Collect seeds between February and April. Collect as the outside of the fruit becomes soft and the seed are gaining colour.
