Neobubastes nickerli  Distinctive features

Upper side bright blue to green (only blue in females), pronotum with dense puncta almost coalescing, elytra with conspicuous, punctate, shallowly-raised, longitudinal striae that are closely and evenly spaced; ventral side red-copper in males and (golden-)green in females, lustrous, and with sparse fine pubescence.

Notes

I trapped seven individuals of this species east of Kingoonya between 24 Oct 2023 and 8 Jan 2024. These are the first reported SA records and a major disjunction from the species known distribution in the western half of WA.
